Visalus lets me eat REAL FOOD !!!!

I mentioned that I spent Thanksgiving with friends and lost 1/2 pound that day.  I  want you to see how "NORMAL" my Thanksgiving was.

I had a shake for Breakfast , we had some appetizers around 1:00 then dinner was at 4pm.  Here is our delightful table setting with the pies at the end of the table.  Looks like someone couldn't wait and had a sampling of the Pumpkin Pie.  It wasn't me....

Then for dinner we had Turkey- Yummm, mashed potatoes and peas and stuffing and maple glazed yams and homemade cranberry sauce.

I wanted to actually show the picture of my plate....yes this is my very own plate...to show you that I eat normal food, normal portions and don't feel at all deprived.

These wonderful rolls are homemade. I did limit myself to one roll...that did take some self control.  But I was more than full and happy for the entire day and night.

If you are trying to lose some weight or get in shape, please join me in the challenge.  You deserve to feel as good as I am feeling.

THANKSGIVING - Success

Here in the United States, Thanksgiving is a day famous for overeating.  I had the pleasure of spending the day up in the mountains at a friends cabin.  I had my Visalus Shake in the morning, then some appetizers around 1pm.  Dinner was served at 4pm and I think we finished with Pie at 6:30. I had two helpings of turkey and mashed potatoes and a little more stuffing.

The next day I had a shake for breakfast, believe it or not I was actually hungry. Then I had a Machaca Buritto for lunch, 3/4 of it for lunch, then the rest for my afternoon snack.  Dinner, I had some left over appetizer...brie in puff pastry with cherries and pecans and a glass of milk.  Really wasn't hungry
I didn't have a chance to weigh myself yesterday, but this morning this morning I was 1/2 pound less than Thanksgiving morning.
The reason I tell you all these details, is to show that you can still live a normal life and be successful on Visalus as a Weight Loss Program.. I couldn't be happier.

If you live in the US or Canada, you can join me on this adventure, as either a distributor, or a customer.  Today, Sunday and Monday the company is offering free shipping.  Now is the time to join.  My WEB site....www.food4you.myvi.net .  Just join the 90 day challenge and see your life change.

Keep on Snacking...

This last week has been a struggle to eat as often as I should eat to keep my metabolism up. I find that eating just a small snack, even if I am not hungry, keeps the pounds coming off.

I work in the Retail business and with Christmas season approaching, have been too busy for my snacks.  Haven't changed anything else...and no weight came off this week.  So BACK to BASICS...back to my snacks.

My favorite snacks are fruit, cottage cheese, string cheese and roasted unsalted almonds.  The string cheese and the almonds are easy to take with me if I am traveling.

Time to Exercise

Well, now that I have lost over 24 pounds it is time to start excercising.  I know it, but I just can't seem to get started.   There are a lot of people around me who are serious cyclists.  The Tour of Utah went by the house in the summer, and it is very impressive to watch.  But swimming is really my best exercise.  I like warm weather, swimming, warm weather and swimming and walks to the park.  However the weather here in Utah has just declared itself to be Winter.  It is snowing even as I write this.  It is very hard to leave my warm house, go to the gym and think about getting wet.  Maybe I chose the wrong season to lose weight.  Maybe I can start with an exercise video here at home.
I am committed to starting to exercise this week.  By Saturday..there I have decided.  I love how much energy I have with my Visalus Shakes.  I love being able to wear clothes I haven't worn in over 6 years.  If you want to join me on this Challenge go to my website:  www.food4you.myvi.net, watch the videos and join the challenge.  Right now they only ship to the US and Canada.

Two months 22 pounds....gone

I'm not sure I can express how happy I am every day right now.  To have lost 22 pounds in two months has been heavenly.

Here is the plan...I have a VISALUS Shake for Breakfast. Usually I have it plain, because I broke my fancy new blender the first week I bought it and I have taken my mini blender to work.  Then I get to the store around 11am and have a snack. Lately it has been either a fresh peach or a string cheese.  Then around 1pm I have a second shake; some almonds around 4pm and then dinner at 6:30pm

On the Visalus program you can switch whichever meal you like. Today I felt like eating lunch so I got a Macadamia Nut Crusted Chicken with Green beans and rice from my neighbor Mikado's.  I can only eat 1/3 of the portion they give me, so that will be either dinner or lunch again tomorrow.

What is surprising me about this fitness plan is that I am never hungry.  If I feel like I might be getting hungry I eat something...have a few nuts, cottage cheese, string cheese, every once in a while I even make a few cookies hot from the oven.  The secret there...I only bake 2 cookies.  I really only need 1, but I can't rationalize turning on the oven for 1 cookie.

Now it is turning to Apple Season here in Utah.  I'm looking forward to an apple a day and maybe even a nice French Apple Tart if I have company.

This week I have 3 more friends who have joined me on this program...everyone of them says" I feel so good"!  I couldn't agree more.

For those of you who are waiting...for what I don't know....if you do want to try it and don't like it for any reason your purchase is 100% refundable.  Haven't had one refund yet...but what do you have to lose?

Taking it Day by Day

It has now been two months a 3 days since I have started the 90 day challenge.  I can't tell you how fun it is every morning to get onto the scale and watch my progress.  What really has surprised me is how I crave healthy foods, not only for my meals but for my snacks.  Right now in Utah it is Apple season.  For most of the United States it is harvest time.  So the amount of fresh fruit and vegetables is plentiful.
Someone asked me the other day for a good Salmon Recipe...so here is a simple and favorite one of mine:

Bake piece of Salmon at 350 degrees for 22-25 minutes. Do not over cook.  I top with dill and butter.  Bake uncovered.  It is always a hit.   Then I have a side salad, roll and one or two fresh vegetables with it.  Somedays I substitute the roll for a small baked potato or rice.

It is one of my favorite meals.

Summertime Meals

Salsa is my weakness.  Thank goodness I didn't have to give it up.

The Visalus 90 Day Challenge is a complete nutrition program.  I take 2 shakes a day to replace meals.  Normally I have a shake for Breakfast, a piece of fruit for a snack, a Shake for Lunch, some nuts for an afternoon snack and then a reasonable dinner.  In late summer that includes either homemade Salsa or Homemade Bruschetta.

A typical meal would be 2 slices of Bruschetta, a piece of Salmon or chicken, asparagas and a salad.  I have found that I crave healthy food for whichever meal I have.

I hope you decide to join me on this adventure.  As part of the Visalus program you actually make a goal for your 90 day challenge.  My goal is 30 pounds in 90 days.  Come and joing me.  You can enter through the tab at the top to my Visalus Website.

Successful Weight loss

I'm actually starting this blog, two months to the day from starting the Visalus 30 Day Challenge program.  I have lost 20 pounds!!!! Yes, TWENTY pounds.

What is the program?  There is actually a TAB at the top of the Blog that is a link to a video which will explain the program.

Here is what is what is important to me:

1.  I have more confidence
2.  I walk differently
3.  I feel great

And my clothes are now too big....(Big smile here).  P.S.  that is not me in the picture...There are 4 different programs available in this Visalus 90 Day Challenge.  I am doing the most aggressive to transform my body.  I can tell you that this is the easiest program I have ever done.

Deciding it was time to lose Weight

I love Birthday Parties, as long as they are not surprise parties.  This year was almost a milestone birthday, which means next year is a milestone birthday.  If you know me well you will know which one, but right now I'm not going to tell. This year I decided that this was time to draw a line in the sand..or should I say the scale.  I decided enough was enough and it was time to make a change.  It was time to lose weight.
I used to be quite athletic as a swimmer and a tennis player.  I love to play Tennis...at least my memory says I love to play tennis.  I love the outdoors, I like to hike, I love to take pictures of the outdoors.  About 10 years ago, maybe more, I was doing a 5K race...I was walking in it.  About a block from the finish line my toe caught the edge of an uneven piece of sidewalk and I fell.  I fell forwards with my hands stopping my fall.  During that fall my left elbow jammed into my ribs cracking 5 of them and my ribs broke the tip of my elbow.  I ended up with 5 broken ribs and a cast for my broken elbow.

So, for 3 months as I recovered, I slept and ate whatever my good friends brought me.  About a week after my cast came off I was standing at the top of tile stairway when someone accidentally bumped into me.  I fell sideways down a few stairs and ended up breaking my right leg and badly spraining my right foot. Another cast and 3 more months of inactivity, good food and loving friends and that is when I gained around 66 pounds of unwanted weight.

I can vouch for the saying "it is much easier to gain weight than to lose it".  Over the past 10 years I have tried a few programs, exercise and dieting and none of them have worked....until now.  I am so excited about the program offered by Visalus that I am willing to share my experiences so hopefully others who have been discouraged can be encouraged on a weight loss and fitness journey of their own.

My wish is that we will be successful together.....
