Two months 22 pounds....gone
I'm not sure I can express how happy I am every day right now. To have lost 22 pounds in two months has been heavenly.
Here is the plan...I have a VISALUS Shake for Breakfast. Usually I have it plain, because I broke my fancy new blender the first week I bought it and I have taken my mini blender to work. Then I get to the store around 11am and have a snack. Lately it has been either a fresh peach or a string cheese. Then around 1pm I have a second shake; some almonds around 4pm and then dinner at 6:30pm
On the Visalus program you can switch whichever meal you like. Today I felt like eating lunch so I got a Macadamia Nut Crusted Chicken with Green beans and rice from my neighbor Mikado's. I can only eat 1/3 of the portion they give me, so that will be either dinner or lunch again tomorrow.
What is surprising me about this fitness plan is that I am never hungry. If I feel like I might be getting hungry I eat something...have a few nuts, cottage cheese, string cheese, every once in a while I even make a few cookies hot from the oven. The secret there...I only bake 2 cookies. I really only need 1, but I can't rationalize turning on the oven for 1 cookie.
Now it is turning to Apple Season here in Utah. I'm looking forward to an apple a day and maybe even a nice French Apple Tart if I have company.
This week I have 3 more friends who have joined me on this program...everyone of them says" I feel so good"! I couldn't agree more.
For those of you who are waiting...for what I don't know....if you do want to try it and don't like it for any reason your purchase is 100% refundable. Haven't had one refund yet...but what do you have to lose?

Taking it Day by Day

Someone asked me the other day for a good Salmon Recipe...so here is a simple and favorite one of mine:
Bake piece of Salmon at 350 degrees for 22-25 minutes. Do not over cook. I top with dill and butter. Bake uncovered. It is always a hit. Then I have a side salad, roll and one or two fresh vegetables with it. Somedays I substitute the roll for a small baked potato or rice.
It is one of my favorite meals.

Summertime Meals
Salsa is my weakness. Thank goodness I didn't have to give it up.
The Visalus 90 Day Challenge is a complete nutrition program. I take 2 shakes a day to replace meals. Normally I have a shake for Breakfast, a piece of fruit for a snack, a Shake for Lunch, some nuts for an afternoon snack and then a reasonable dinner. In late summer that includes either homemade Salsa or Homemade Bruschetta.
A typical meal would be 2 slices of Bruschetta, a piece of Salmon or chicken, asparagas and a salad. I have found that I crave healthy food for whichever meal I have.
I hope you decide to join me on this adventure. As part of the Visalus program you actually make a goal for your 90 day challenge. My goal is 30 pounds in 90 days. Come and joing me. You can enter through the tab at the top to my Visalus Website.

Successful Weight loss

What is the program? There is actually a TAB at the top of the Blog that is a link to a video which will explain the program.
Here is what is what is important to me:
1. I have more confidence
2. I walk differently
3. I feel great
And my clothes are now too big....(Big smile here). P.S. that is not me in the picture...There are 4 different programs available in this Visalus 90 Day Challenge. I am doing the most aggressive to transform my body. I can tell you that this is the easiest program I have ever done.
Deciding it was time to lose Weight
I used to be quite athletic as a swimmer and a tennis player. I love to play Tennis...at least my memory says I love to play tennis. I love the outdoors, I like to hike, I love to take pictures of the outdoors. About 10 years ago, maybe more, I was doing a 5K race...I was walking in it. About a block from the finish line my toe caught the edge of an uneven piece of sidewalk and I fell. I fell forwards with my hands stopping my fall. During that fall my left elbow jammed into my ribs cracking 5 of them and my ribs broke the tip of my elbow. I ended up with 5 broken ribs and a cast for my broken elbow.
So, for 3 months as I recovered, I slept and ate whatever my good friends brought me. About a week after my cast came off I was standing at the top of tile stairway when someone accidentally bumped into me. I fell sideways down a few stairs and ended up breaking my right leg and badly spraining my right foot. Another cast and 3 more months of inactivity, good food and loving friends and that is when I gained around 66 pounds of unwanted weight.
I can vouch for the saying "it is much easier to gain weight than to lose it". Over the past 10 years I have tried a few programs, exercise and dieting and none of them have worked....until now. I am so excited about the program offered by Visalus that I am willing to share my experiences so hopefully others who have been discouraged can be encouraged on a weight loss and fitness journey of their own.
My wish is that we will be successful together.....
